These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the WritePath application ("WritePath" or the "app"), developed and operated by Anthurium Creative LLC ("Anthurium Creative," "we," "us," or "our"), a Washington limited liability company. By downloading or using WritePath, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app. We may modify these Terms at any time, and changes are effective when posted. You can reach us at daniel [at] anthuriumcreative [dot] com.
Your journal belongs to you. WritePath requires no account, and we operate no server that stores or receives your entries, places, or photos ("Your Content"). Your Content is stored on your device, and automatically synced through your own private iCloud account if you're signed into iCloud on that device. Because we operate no backend, we cannot access, read, recover, or restore Your Content — so you are responsible for your own backups, and we are not responsible for any loss of Your Content, including loss from device failure, deletion, iCloud issues, or the app's data-deletion features. You retain all rights in Your Content, and you are responsible for ensuring your use of the app complies with applicable law and does not infringe the rights of others.
We take your privacy seriously. WritePath uses privacy-focused, anonymized analytics (TelemetryDeck) that record anonymous usage signals only — never your journal content, location data, or personal information. Our collection and use of information is described in our Privacy Policy, which you agree to by using the app.
WritePath offers a free tier and premium features you can unlock by upgrading. Premium may be offered as an auto-renewing subscription and/or as a one-time ("lifetime") purchase; the options and pricing available to you are shown in the app at the point of purchase. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store, and we never collect or receive your payment-card details.
Auto-renewing subscriptions renew automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings; deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. A one-time "lifetime" purchase unlocks the included premium features with no recurring charge — "lifetime" refers to the life of the app and does not obligate us to operate or support it indefinitely, or to include features we may later offer as separate paid options.
Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies; direct any refund requests to Apple. Features, pricing, and the split between free and premium functionality may change over time.
WritePath is distributed through the Apple App Store, and your use is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These Terms are between you and Anthurium Creative, not Apple; Anthurium Creative, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app. Apple has no obligation to provide support or to address any claims relating to the app, and is not responsible for any third-party intellectual-property claim relating to the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
WritePath relies on a few third-party services: Apple iCloud/CloudKit for automatic sync and storage in your own private iCloud (active whenever your device is signed into iCloud), RevenueCat to manage purchase and subscription status (it receives transaction data only, never Your Content), and TelemetryDeck for anonymized analytics. Your use of these features may also be subject to those providers' terms, and we are not responsible for third-party services or their availability.
WritePath — including its software, design, name, and logo — is owned by Anthurium Creative and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control for your personal, non-commercial use. Except as expressly permitted, you agree not to copy, modify, create derivative works from, reverse engineer, sell, sublicense, or distribute the app. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.
WritePath is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, that defects will be corrected, that any data will be preserved or recoverable, or that the app will meet your requirements. Location and suggestion features rely on Apple's on-device services and are provided on a best-efforts basis; do not rely on WritePath for any purpose requiring precise or guaranteed data.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Anthurium Creative will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) WritePath. Our total liability for all claims will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or twenty-five U.S. dollars (US $25). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
You may stop using WritePath and delete it at any time. We may suspend or end your access, or discontinue the app, at any time and without notice. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including the sections on Your Content, Intellectual Property, Disclaimer of Warranties, and Limitation of Liability — will survive.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, and the state and federal courts located in King County, Washington will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute — except that either party may seek relief in any court to protect its intellectual property rights. This does not deprive you of consumer-protection rights under the mandatory laws of where you live.
